Ventures

We are building a portfolio of tech ventures across sub-Saharan Africa. Each one is built centrally, then deployed with a local CEO-partner who has real equity and real authority.

What we build

B2B software for African businesses

Most enterprise software was designed for mature markets with reliable internet and large IT budgets. African SMEs need tools that work on a phone, survive spotty connectivity, and cost a fraction of what SAP charges. We build ERP, HR, and logistics software for that reality.

Marketplace platforms

Supply and demand exist in most African sectors. What is missing is the connective layer. We build sector-specific marketplaces where Fottal provides the infrastructure and a local CEO-partner provides the market knowledge to make them work.

Hardware bundled with software

POS terminals, IoT sensors, cold-chain trackers. The device gets you in the door. The software subscription is the business. We bundle hardware with recurring software revenue for retailers, distributors, and field agents who need both.

How we choose ventures

We do not pursue ideas. We pursue problems with large addressable markets in at least one of our priority countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Benin, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, or Ethiopia. If a venture only works in one city, it is too small.

The platform needs to travel. That means the same core product must work across multiple countries without being rebuilt for each one. Localization is expected. Rebuilding is not.

Revenue has to come fast. We look for clear monetization paths that produce income within months of launch, not years. Long runways before first revenue are a luxury we do not take.

Finally, every venture needs a credible local operator ready to run it. No CEO-partner, no launch. The person on the ground matters as much as the product.

Launching soon

Our first ventures are being finalized. We are onboarding CEO-partners now and preparing to go live in our initial markets.
